IVORY COAST : THE DEATH OF PRIME MINISTER HAMED BAKAYOKO
Suffering from terminal cancer and hospitalised since early March at the American Hospital in Paris, Hamed Bakayoko had been transferred in a serious condition to an institution in Freiburg, Germany, on the morning of 6 March to undergo experimental treatment. He died on 10 March at the age of 56.A transfer to Turkey, where there was talk of the Ivorian prime minister undergoing an emergency transplant, had also been considered during the day of 4 March, before being finally abandoned, as doctors considered that he was no longer operable.
